Post Posted: Tue Aug 04, 2026 7:17 am

What Is A RAG in AI? RAG is an acronym for Retrieval-Augmented Generation. It is a method used by AI that enables it to retrieve information before creating the answer. The term RAG meaning involves information retrieval and text generation. In most cases, when there is an AI RAG system, there will be a step in which the question of the user is analyzed. Thereafter, relevant information is retrieved from the connected knowledge source and used to create the response using the language model. RAG is used in many applications such as customer service, knowledge assistant internally, document search, and business intelligence. Unlike a model trained on its dataset alone, RAG retrieves additional information from the outside during the query.
